Tak Matsumoto--Hanna
1. Koi-Uta
2. #1090 Asian Sun
3. Hana
4. Machi
5. Midousuji Blue
6. Red Sky
7. Little Wing
8. Romeo & Juliet
9. Hallelujah
10. Engaged
11. You Know
12. 2011
13. Trinity - (bonus track)
He is the guitarist for B'z
Track 1 is in player..
Great combination of instrumental jazz/fusion/rock.
1. Koi Uta
This is a song that is the equal of "Hana". When we went to Hongkong and Taipei last year to hold live-shows, I came up with a short verse of it in our backstage in Taipei. At that time, I felt like doing a solo album with songs like this. (* Koi = love, Uta = song)
02. #1090 [Sen Mu Ichiya]
I performed this song during a LiveGym last year. At that time, the feeling was great! So when "Koi Uta" and "Hana" were in the process, I wanted to do this song very much too, therefore I recorded it again. (* Sen Mu Ichiya = a thousand dreams in one night )
03. HANA
It's always been my wish to include er-hu playing in this song and "Koi Uta". After seeing Chen Min-san's magnificent performance in TV, I asked for her participation. The second half-part was ad-libbed. (* Ad-libbed = done spontaneously )
04. MACHI
This is a song I wrote for Shichio-kun's CD. All my life, I've always been doing concerts. Wherever I go, I'd fondly remember them with nostalgic feeling, like, 'Aa, when is the next show coming?' that kind of feeling.
05. Midosuji Blue
This is with no doubt a song that has the biggest influence of Kansai Blues. For certainly, I have such thing in the centre of me. And I genuinely like Midosuji very very much. (* Midosuji is a place in Osaka)
06. Shu ~Asayake~
The song itself was done fairly long time ago. Even if there're distressing matters that can't be overcome, morning still comes along. I think that's how this song feels to me, let it be, everything will be okay. (* Shu = orange, Asayake = sunrise color)
07. Little Wing
Even though this is a song I've done countless of times, whether during concerts, for B'z or for other sessions, and I even had it recorded once too. This time I wanted to do the songless version.
08. Romeo & Juliet
I participated to do this song in the album "Guitar Monster". And I really wish to include it into my own album. This time it was Steve Vai who did the mixing for me.
09. Hallelujah
I wanted to do a gospel song. There are many gospel songs with beautiful melody. Well, this might sound absurd, but I sort of think it might be nice to have one of these songs in my own album.
10. ENGAGED
Takuro-kun from GLAY and I have talked about doing something together when there's an opportunity. So finally the timing was good for us to write a song. It was fun because he even came to the studio to see the recording.
11. You Know...
Even though this is a song I wrote for Nanao-kun's recording, I really love the fresh feeling of it. This time for my own album, I did the instrumental version and did a bit of changes to the melody.
12. 2011
There's completely no jazz element inside of me. Therefore it's not because I want to brag about it, I just wanted to try and see if I can do it. And the feeling was like pouring out of me.

Naoya Matsuoka-Emerald [1997]
Here's another rare one from "sergey' appreciated.
With 1997's Emerald, Naoya Matsuoka commemorates his 45th anniversary as a jazz artist with a fully acoustic album. All nine tracks were composed by this exemplary Japanese musician, who confers an engaging exultancy that holds the attention with subtle grace and explicit ingenuity. It would not be too far fetched to presume that this exuberance stems from Matsuoka’s own realization that he has come a long way, and this album in many ways showcases his personal triumph.
The first track establishes the atmospheric motif for the rest of the album, and rightfully so given that the album shares the same name. Matsuoka demonstrates his innate vibrancy, arranging a blithe and athletic fourteen minutes and thirty two seconds song that sweeps, climbs, and twists. “The Deep Sea” proffers a converse disposition to “Emerald,” illustrating Matsuoka at two different ends of the spectrum. This track creeps along sinuously, exuding a likable ambivalence of quiet sensibility seemingly pregnant with passion barely held in check. The third track “Cross the Atlantic” proves to be a happy medium between the two, retaining and combining these contrary qualities to produce a Latin-inspired concoction.
“The Prime of Life” is truly exceptional, starting off with a somewhat nostalgic, unaccompanied piano arrangement that lends a delicate sense of satisfaction and whimsy before launching into a palpable demonstration of the aptly titled “The Prime of Life”. Although it still retains the established mood of the initial piano, the rest of the song accentuates itself continuously with the incorporation of each musical instrument into the piece. “Groovin’ High” illustrates less Latin influence than its compeers. Matsuoka may have had jazz club performances in mind when he sat to compose this cool and charming piece, as the song seems more fitted for a low lit lounge. “Nuestra Fiesta” proves the opposite, as its Latin-flavored nature seems more appropriate for swaying hips and timed steps. “Legend of Love” closes this album on a softer note, rendering it all the more memorable.
There is much to be discovered in Naoya Matsuoka’s Emerald. Whatever the occasion, whether private or public, alone or in company, this album will frame that experience with bold panache and gumption.
Track listing: Emerald; The Deep Sea; Cross the Atlantic; The Prime of Life; Groovin' High; Messenger; Nuestra Fiesta; Django Bop; Legend of Love.
Personnel: Naoya Matsuoka: piano; Getao Takahashi: bass; Akira Sotoyama: drums; Rie Akagi: flute; Koichi Suzuki: trumpet; Shigeharu Mukai: trombone; Hidefumi Toki: saxophone; Tatsuya Sato: saxophone; Hitoshi Hamada: vibraphone.

Ars Nova(jp)--Fear & Anxiety [1992] [NEW LINK POSTED]
This is the 1st release from this nice symp prog Japanese group
All of the files of them are from"Dave" enjoy.
Ars Nova biography
This female keyboard trio started in the next line-up: Keiko Kumagai (keyboards), Kyoko Kanazawa (bass) and Akiko Takahashi (drums). In '92 ARS NOVA released their promising debut-album "Fear & Anxiety", a tribute to ELP with floods of powerful Hammond organ and flashing synthesizer solos, supported by a strong and adventurous rhythm-section. After several album and changes in the line-up, ARS NOVA is still going strong and end 2003 the trio released their new CD entitled "Biogenesis Project": it's loaded with spectacular instrumental prog rock in the vein of ELP, UK and TRACE. The current ARS NOVA includes Keiko Kumagai (keyboards), Akiko Takahashi (drums, voice) and Mika (vocal and chorus).
My favorite ARS NOVA CD is "The Goddess of Darkness": captivating compositions with lots of spectacular keyboardplay (Hammond organ, Mellotron and synthesizers) and a splendid, very propulsive rhythm-section. In my opinion ARS NOVA has reached their pinnacle with this album, other albums also contain great material but sound less mature, they fail to generate the same excitement. At some moments I think "I've heard this before" and then my attention fades away. Nonetheless, all ARS NOVA albums reach a decent level and always contain good keyboardplay to enjoy. The last album "Biogenesis Project" (a SF-concept) is literally another story: it's a project with a lot of known progrock guest musicians like members from GOBLIN, PFM and IL BALLETTO DI BRONZO, the rhythm-section from GERARD, singer Alex Brunori (ex-LEVIATHAN) and Arjen LUCASSEN (mastermind of Dutch AYREON project and a possible inspirator to this story). They all give this album an extra dimension (great violinplay, good vocals and biting and howling guitarplay) and lift it above the level of the last ARS NOVA albums. I'm stunned by the magnificent keyboardplay and the exciting instrumental interludes. Fresh Blood was needed the result is there!
Studio Album, released in 1992
Songs / Tracks Listing
1. Dark Clouds
2. [dgiha:d]
3. House of Ben
4. Prominence
5. Fata Morgana part 1
6. Fata Magana part 2
Total Time: 31:35
